1Icod de los Vinos — wine, history & the legendary Dragon Tree
Your day begins in picturesque Icod de los Vinos, one of Tenerife's most famous wine towns. We visit a historic medieval house for a tasting of local Canarian wines and cheeses, stroll across Piazza of Saint Mark among 16th-century mansions, and take in the view of the legendary Millennium Dragon Tree — Drago Milenario, one of Tenerife's great natural symbols.

2Swimming possibleGarachico — the town reshaped by lava
Next, the legendary town of Garachico on the north-west coast. Once one of Tenerife's most important ports, it was partly destroyed by a powerful volcanic eruption. We wander its old streets, learn how the elements forever changed the town, then reach the famous natural lava pools carved by ocean and volcano. When conditions allow, you can swim in the ocean right among the volcanic rocks.

3Buenavista del Norte — wild & green Tenerife
We continue to Buenavista del Norte, one of the most picturesque and least urbanised areas of the island. Here Tenerife looks entirely different: green mountains, deep ravines, ocean horizons and nature that has kept its primeval character — the real Tenerife far from the standard tourist trails.

4Not includedTraditional Canarian lunch
After the morning route we stop at a typical Canarian restaurant — a chance to try the island's traditional cuisine: grilled meat and steaks, stewed goat, Canarian cheeses, local dishes and Canarian wine. Lunch is not included in the tour price; approximate cost is 15-20€ per person depending on your choice.

5Exclusive accessPunta de Teno — our exclusive access
The most exclusive part of your journey. Punta de Teno is the westernmost point of Tenerife, and vehicle access for ordinary tourist transport is restricted — so most visitors simply cannot reach it by car. We have special access that brings you directly to this remote corner: the Atlantic Ocean, the famous Los Gigantes cliffs, volcanic caves and an almost endless horizon. When conditions allow, we stop by the ocean for a swim among the volcanic rocks and caves. One of the most striking photo spots of the route.

6Masca — legendary mountain village
After Punta de Teno we head to famous Masca. The road winds through incredible mountain serpentine, ravines and panoramic viewpoints. Masca sits among huge mountain walls and is one of the most recognisable landscapes of Tenerife. We walk the village, see the famous Masca gorge and enjoy views of the Atlantic and, on a clear day, the neighbouring island of La Gomera — and try Canarian honey rum.

7Canary pine forests
After Masca the climb to the highlands begins. We drive through unique Canary pine forests — Pinus canariensis, endemic to the Canary Islands. These trees have an extraordinary ability to recover after forest fires, so the Canarian forests literally rebirth after the elements. Gradually the green forest gives way to a stark volcanic landscape.

8Volcán Chinyero
We then see the volcanic landscapes of the Chinyero area, shaped by relatively recent volcanic activity. Here it is especially clear how alive and dynamic the volcanic nature of Tenerife really is.

9HighlightTeide National Park
The grand culmination of our journey — Teide National Park. We climb high into the mountains where the landscape changes completely. Instead of green forests, vast lava fields, volcanic craters, cliffs and landscapes that resemble the surface of another planet open before us.

10Highlight“Lunar Valley” & cinematic landscapes
At roughly 1,900-2,500 metres we see some of Tenerife's most unusual scenery: lunar landscapes, lava fields and craters, fantastic volcanic formations, cliffs and ravines, and the famous Roque Cinchado — the “Finger of God”. These otherworldly landscapes have served as natural sets for film and TV, including scenes in the style of Star Wars and Planet of the Apes.

11Panoramas from 2,800 metres
At high altitude, fantastic panoramas of Tenerife and the Atlantic Ocean open up. When visibility is good you can see the neighbouring Canary Islands scattered around Tenerife — a point where the scale of the island and the whole archipelago is felt especially clearly.

12Descent through the green north
After the highlands we begin the descent back to the north of Tenerife. Volcanic landscapes gradually give way to green forests, clouds and mountain slopes of the Orotava Valley — a beautiful finale to a day in which you will have seen Tenerife from almost every side.
