Travel the wild north-west of Tenerife in a premium minibus with a small group of no more than eight guests. The day opens on the lava plains of Teide National Park, then drops into Icod de los Vinos for a tasting of Canarian wines and cheeses beside the 2580-year-old Drago Milenario dragon tree, one of the island’s oldest living symbols. From there the coast road leads to Garachico, the old port town rebuilt after the 1706 eruption and famous for its black lava rock pools, before climbing into the green ravine of Masca, where white houses hang on cliffs above the Atlantic. As the light turns gold we return to the high slopes of the volcano for a sunset toast with cava and the silence of the crater. Shared departure, bilingual guide, all the famous corners of the island in a single unhurried day.
