The Toyota Yaris Hybrid answers the question many guests ask before renting: do I need a bigger car for Tenerife? The answer, almost always, is no. This car covers every standard Tenerife route — from the resort beaches in the south to the laurisilva forest in the Anaga at the northern tip — with the same access as vehicles twice its size and three times its fuel consumption. Real-world hybrid economy sits at around 3.5 litres per 100 km, so a full week of island exploration on less than two tanks of fuel is normal, not exceptional. Insurance is included in every rental. The main driver must be 26 or older with more than 2 years of driving experience, and hold a licence valid for driving in Spain — an EU/EEA licence, or a national licence with an International Driving Permit. Drivers under 26, or with a licence held for 2 years or less, are accepted only by prior individual agreement.
